About my Work

I am a librarian at heart! Therefore, in both my research interests and methodologies, I work with communities to understand their needs and design solutions together. My focus lies in the realm of new media, where I explore the potential impact of technologies such as creativity support tools and artificial intelligence on participatory popular culture and creativity, primarily utilizing qualitative and co-design methodologies. Specifically, I am deeply interested in examining how software serves as a medium for the dissemination of cultural knowledge through various forms of creative expression. Currently, my work looks at the potential of online, fan-generated content for the long-term preservation of video games and ways that we can utilize artificial intelligence to support human creativity. Though I see myself as an interdisciplinary researcher, much of my work centers around the fields of library science and human computer interaction.
